What is the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary? |

- Volunteer service organization composed of men and
women
- U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary established by Congress in
1939 to perform many support services for the U.S. Coast Guard
- Operates under the jurisdiction of the U.S.
Department of Homeland Security
- More than 35,000 members
- Provides boating safety services to recreational
boaters
- Supports the U.S. Coast Guard in carrying out
"Operation: Patriot Readiness" and many other functions
